Will you give your views? Brainstorming Thursday 23 June 8.30pm, Galway Bay Hotel

A recent issue of the Irish Times featured Malahide, Co Dublin – described as an ‘a seaside suburb that’s still a village at heart’ and went on to highlight the many benefits of living there – focusing particularly on the sense of community spirit and ‘how closely co-operative the community is’.  There are many similarities between Salthill and Malahide. But could we speak with such justifiable pride about the community spirit and cooperation in our home place?

A number of interested Salthill residents will meet on Thursday 23 June at 8.30pm in the Inishmore Suite, Galway Bay hotel to brainstorm the topic of community and the value of a community centre where we could meet, greet, network, socialise and be a community in every sense of the word.  We invite you to come along to give your view, and invite your neighbours and Salthill friends who may be interested.  Please register your interest by email to ‘salthillcentre@gmail.com’ or call/text 087 2929793 or visit www.salthillcentre.blogspot.com.  We hope to see you at the community meeting and/or hear from you and get your views beforehand.   Attending this exploratory meeting does not mean you are committing yourself to any long-term involvement in the project unless you wish to.

We wish to thank the management of the Galway Bay hotel that is providing complementary meeting room and tea/coffee.
